At the 1998 show, Elizabeth Farley, left, and Irene Slater consulted reference books to ensure that plant names submitted with entries were accurate and in agreement with current taxonomic practices. Every year thousands of show visitors study the plants and want to learn where to buy and how to grow them. Ensuring that visitors have accurate information is part of PHS’s insistence on high standards for the show.
